Thanks to all who participated in this event. Please make sure you have handed in your prize choice by tearing off the back page of the Sponsorship Form and filling in all details. This needs to be done for all online donations too. Once I have received all the forms I can send away for the prizes.
Springfield Lakes State School will be holding a School Read-A-Thon between August 25 and September 19 as a major P&C fundraising event this year.
The School Read-A-Thon is a stimulating, fun and literacy based fundraiser that ensures we send the right message to our students about developing literacy and a healthy mind. The main focus of this event is on participation. Family support is most appreciated as we encourage all students to get involved.
Our school will be holding 30 minute reading sessions in class each school day over the next 4 weeks. To help your child, you may also do extra reading at home.
All students have received a Sponsorship Form to help collect sponsorship on behalf of the school. The funds raised will be used to purchase extra Reading Resources.
We ask all parents to read the Sponsorship Form and sign the front page to grant permission for their child to fundraise and participate in this event.  In the Sponsorship Form you will find all the tools you need for successful fundraising, and more!
Students who raise at least $10 will receive a reward for effort. We have educated students on the dangers of door knocking without adult supervision, please reiterate this at home. The best people to ask for sponsorship are people you know (e.g. friends, family, work colleagues and neighbours).
A new way to help your child reach their sponsorship goals is through online fundraising. Students raise 5.62 times more with online fundraising, with an average of $95.58 per student! To benefit from this new feature, log on to today!
Once fundraising is complete please help your child fill out Step 5 – How to Claim Prizes, on the back page of the Sponsorship Form. Then tear it off and return it with all money raised to the front office on or before October 5th (end of School Holidays).
Thank you, good luck and happy fundraising!
If you have any further questions, please contact the co-ordinator, Wendy Coates, in the library.
