Keep up to date about your children's trip to Canberra and Sydney
Friday 12th October
A message from our Principal:
"Today we have explored Sydney. Our first point of call was Taronga Park Zoo. It was certainly a first to see a silver back gorilla all 250kg. Did you know that a giraffe is two metres tall at birth?
After some lunch at the ferry terminal we travelled across the harbour to Circular Quay and an ice-cream. We then moved past some notable Sydney landmarks to climb the pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Tomorrow we are off to the National Maritime Museum and HMAS Vampire.
We are scheduled to arrive in Brisbane at 2:30pm. I will advise the school of our anticipated arrival time as soon as I can. I am thinking that it may be an hour earlier than anticipated, something to do with daylight saving." Peter Doyle

A message from our Principal:
"Last evening we visited Questacon. This is an interactive science exhibition with a huge range of activities. The most popular were the Earthquake House (a 4.5 earthquake is certainly a powerful beast) and the giant slide. At 56 there is no reason why a principal cannot hang over the edge of a two story building, let go and slide down to the chants of 85 of my best friends.
Wednesday we packed up early and loaded up the bus.
Our first stop was the Australian Institute of Sport where our elite athletes train. We were escorted by two young men: a triathlete and a cricketer to the gym and swimming pool. Our final stop was the interactive centre where we were able to try our hands at a whole range of sporting activities.
Our final stop in Canberra was the Australian War Memorial. Again we were guided around and followed the stories of some Australian service men. One was the rear gunner on G for George the Lancaster bomber. After lunch we hopped on the bus to travel to Sydney. This evening we celebrated the birthday of two children Christine and James. We gave each a small present and a their own cake.
Finally, I can advise that the school phone has died. An alternative number to contact the group on is 0459 829 170. I am happy to report that all children, staff and our drivers are all well and happy." Peter Doyle 6.49am

A message from our Principal:"Our travel to Sydney was uneventful. We were met at the airport by two professional drivers. Lance and Frank have done an excellent job driving us around Canberra. On Monday afternoon we visited CSIRO and learnt about their investigations. Tuesday was spent on parliamentary business, visiting both the old and new Parliament Houses. One of the children is a direct descendant of a former Prime Minister, Joe Lyons. We were able to photograph her in front of his official portrait. While we did not see any politicians, we were able to engage in some hands on experiences with some children playing Governors General Isaac Isaacs and Quentin Bryce. This Tuesday evening were are visiting the Questacon Science Centre and tomorrow a visit to the Australian War Memorial. All the children are well and having a ball!" Peter Doyle
Tuesday 9th OctoberWe are proud to announce that members of the public made some very favourable comments about our children's behaviour both on the plane and at the resort.
