Cross Country/ Walkathon
Dear Parents /Guardians,
Our school is once again participating in a major fundraiser for our school's Chaplaincy Service. Our Chaplaincy Service operates on a combination of community raised funds and the Australian Federal Government's National School Chaplaincy Program grant. Last year, our school Walkathon/Cross Country raised over $14,000 to support our School Chaplaincy Service (which is a fantastic effort). This year, we have set a goal of raising $10,000 to support our Chaplaincy Service through the Walkathon/ Cross Country.
The cross country for Years 4-6 is on 21st March and the Prep -3 walkathon is on 23rd March walk. We ask for your assistance, by seeking donations in the form of sponsorship for your child to complete the Cross Country/ Walkathon. Sponsorship is voluntary and may be as simple as a $2, $4, $5 or $10 donation per sponsor. This is an opportunity for your child to be healthy, active and raise funds that assist our community, while competing in this school event.
You can ask your relatives, family friends or even a next-door neighbour to sponsor your child. We do not recommend children seeking donations door to door.
Every child participating in the Cross Country /Walkathon will receive an ice block upon completing the course. There is a major prize in each year level for the individual child that raises the most money with scooters for prep to 3 and a bike for years 4-6. If your child raises $10 or more your, they will receive an invitation to attend Chappy Just Dance sessions in the hall, which will be held in week 10 and the class that raises the most money will receive a pizza party.
Attached to this letter is a sponsorship form. You may like to take the form to your work place to seek sponsors for your child. We would like to thank you in advance for your support in this fundraising endeavour for the Chaplaincy Service in the school. Sponsorship forms and donations are due back to the school office by Thursday 17th March 2022. Extra copies can be downloaded here.
