Dear Parents and Carers,
Due to the ongoing weather events in Queensland, the Premier has advised that schools will only be open on Friday 4 March for the children of essential workers and children experiencing vulnerability.
We hope that everyone remains safe and acknowledge that this is a difficult time for many of us. Families are encouraged to tune-in to local media, monitor weather conditions, heed the warnings and follow instructions from emergency services.
Especially now - Remember, “If it's flooded, forget it".
In order to ensure continuity of learning, parents can access a range of online learning tools and resources from the learning@home website.
If you have any concerns or require additional support, please contact school administration on (07) 3437 9888.
Please be aware that absences due to emergencies and natural disasters will not be recorded on a student's report card.
Please regularly check the school closures site (https://closures.qld.edu.au/) to access up to date information about school closures. This site will be updated on a daily basis.
We will continue to provide information to families, via the school website, Facebook, email and class Dojo as it becomes available. There are also many excellent resources on the Queensland Government Get Ready Queensland website, that serve as a checklist for our homes, travel arrangements and our personal safety.
Please make use of the following websites to help plan your journey to and from school:
Thank you for your ongoing support and please stay safe
Regards
Evan Willis
